Inside a fish-tank a fish is infected by fungi; its brain chemistry –now compromised– causes a decreased sense of orientation and balance, over time the fish is no longer able to swim properly or distinguish
surface from bottom.
I watch it swim upside-down while its body slants to one side or another
sometimes adopting other incongruent swimming patterns
its little scales turn whiteish –withering–
the other fish nibbling at its fins constantly
and yet it feeds
voraciously.
